HI! I'M MORGAN

DESIGNER + DIYER

Architect turned DIYer. Wanting things I can't afford and attempting to build them myself. I’ll figure out what doesn’t work so you can jump right in and join me on this DIY adventure. I want to inspire pinners to be skilled craftswomen and to motivate the procrastinators (like myself) to not settle just because of a high price tag. I’ll walk you through it, just takes some elbow grease.

From start to finish, The Home Depot Home Services team went above and beyond to ensure that everything was done with the utmost care #ad

I was so impressed with how they kept the work site clean, putting down a floor protector and covering appliances with blankets to prevent damage

They even used plastic sheeting and a dust collection system to keep any sanding dust from getting into the rest of my home while they sanded the existing cabinets!

Once the counters were installed, they even took extra precautions to protect them from any tools or debris

At the end of each day, they took the time to clean up their tools, sweep, and make sure the space was usable and safe

I wish I could be that clean with my own DIY home projects!

Welcome to my house, I live in a constant construc

Welcome to my house, I live in a constant construction zone

Unfinished baseboards and doorways missing trim for months are just a few things you'll find in my home.

Trim projects feel unglamorous and unnoteworthy but they add the finishing touch that helps make a room look more finished and updated

Having people over next weekend is forcing me to finish some of these unfinished trim projects. I won't get to all of them but it's definitely better than it was before

Will they notice? Probably not. But anyone that's been here in the last 6 months will be able to tell that it looks more finished or more polished even if they don't know exactly why

But then they'll see all the other unfinished trim and paint and understand that we are in constant renovation 😅

Who else feels like there home is never finished? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Smooth ceilings are a must for me but they can be

Smooth ceilings are a must for me but they can be so intimidating!

I had convinced myself that if I started, I had to have enough time set aside to finish... I realized that this was preventing me from ever starting!

To break the cycle, I decided that 1 hour is enough. Then tomorrow or 3 days from now, I'll do another hour and slowly I'll have made progress!

The time is gonna pass by anyways, I may as well sneak some time towards this unfinished project so that I'm 1 month, I'm almost done. Because if I don't start now, I'm 1 month, I still would be the in exact same position I was yesterday

I prefer to sand my ceiling with a drywall sander but since that isn't an option for this room, I decided to skim coat it!
