DESIGNER + DIYER

Architect turned DIYer. Wanting things I can't afford and attempting to build them myself. Iโ€™ll figure out what doesnโ€™t work so you can jump right in and join me on this DIY adventure. I want to inspire pinners to be skilled craftswomen and to motivate the procrastinators (like myself) to not settle just because of a high price tag. I think this image needs its own spot on my feed I think this image needs its own spot on my feed I had thought about adding some tiny paintings or something else here but I wasn't sure I want everything in my home to be very intentional so I'll often leave something blank until something feels right I already had this Family Circle conversion chart sitting propped up against the microwave It was my grandmothers. She loved to cook and I wanted to learn so she taught me all her recipes and I wrote them down so the whole family could have them She always had it in her kitchen, tho she didn't measure anything so I'm not sure why A couple years before she passed she said she was sad that the lamination was peeling so badly and asked if I could find another one, since I was so good at the internet ๐Ÿ˜‚ Well she wasn't wrong and I gifted her this one for Christmas that year After she passed away, my mom got the original one and I got the newer one so that we both have something from her to keep in/near the kitchen With this location on the wall, I'll be able to see it everyday. Im not waiting around for IKEA I decided to keep Im not waiting around for IKEA I decided to keep the one ikea cabinet that I had that was actually the correct size Since ikea is out of the cabinet I needed, it was time to make my own! I made these boxes and secured them to the studs and base. I have some screws sticking out, measurements that were off, and so many other mistakes but you know what? ... Im rolling with it.
